Former costars and close friends of Jason Momoa have thrown an advance surprise birthday party for the 40-year-old Aquaman actor.
Jason, who turned 40 on August 1, was surprised by his best friends who threw a party to surprise the actor days before his birthday.
The event was organized by Mada Abdelhamid, Momoa’s close friend who also competed to take on the role of Khal Drogo in the popular series Game of Thrones.
“Right now we made up some stupid excuse for him to leave. He really doesn’t need to leave,” the actor said in a video while Jason was busy giving autographs.
“All his friends all said they’re busy, they’re not in town. He thinks it’s just the three of us going to sushi. But we’re planning the f—— party of the f—— year.”
Fortunately for the 40-year-old star, however, there was more on the table than just sushi.
After he made it back into his room, he was greeted by dozens of close friends and former costars who waited patiently in ambush.
Among the attendees, there were several high-profile figures including actors such as Ian Somerhalder, Joe Flanigan, and Emilia Clarke whom the actor grew very close to during the shooting of GoT.
Upon entering the crowded room, Momoa was surprised by a cold Guinness and a whiskey cake.
“Hello, so I just walked to this lovely man here and I said thank you, thank you for putting all of this on film,” 40-year-old Somerhalder told Momoa.
“Because this man, Jason Momoa’s story, is such a bright and positive story that it should be seen. Momoa, I love you. Happy birthday my dear brother. Proud of you brother, thank you for everything, mahalo.”
The Khaleesi actress also greeted Momoa on Instagram where she shared a picture of the two of them together and wrote:
“With you I feel 2 feet small…HAPPY FREAKING BIRTHDAY BABY! An oversized bath tub of happiness for another year of you.”
