JAY-Z took his eldest daughter on a baller date as they went to the Staples Center Los Angeles last Sunday to watch the match between two of the most hyped rival teams of the city.
Having a clear view of all the action, sitting courtside, the dad and daughter looked very happy.
JAY-Z has three kids with wife Beyoncé, the other two being two-year-old twins Rumi and Sir.
The singer was caught on camera putting his arm around daughter Blue Ivy as they watched the match that led Los Angeles Lakers into a 112 to 103 victory against traditional rival Los Angeles Clippers.
The dad-daughter duo posed once more for the camera, with the singer hugging his little girl this time. Both JAY-Z and Blue were in casual outfits on their “date.”
JAY-Z was dressed in a gray sweatshirt, black pants, and white sneakers. He topped his look off with a Rhude baseball cap and a golden chain.
Eight-year-old Blue was in a gray shirt having silver accents and all-black pants. Talking of footwear, Beyoncé’s mini-me had Fendi combat boots.
To shield herself against the weather, the eight-year-old wore an oversized denim jacket which had the phrase “BLUE IS MY NAME,” printed in white on the back.
She was wearing her hair in long Braids.
JAY-Z has a close bond with Blue. He opened up about the nature of his relationship with his daughter in April 2018 when he was a guest in Netflix show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction by David Letterman.
Remembering one of his most enjoyable moments with his little girl, JAY-Z said: “I told her to get in the car the other day because she was asking a thousand questions and we had to leave for school.
“So we’re driving, and I hear a little voice. ‘Dad?’ I turn around and she said, ‘I didn’t like when you told me to get in the car the way you told me. It hurt my feelings.’”
Blue was only 5 at the time and it made JAY-Z immensely proud that his daughter stood against what she thought was wrong and raised her voice against it.
JAY-Z responded, saying: “That’s the most beautiful thing you’ve ever said to me.”
Blue is following the footsteps of her parents into singing and dancing. According to a source, she “loves singing, dancing and performing” just as her superstar mom does.
The source said: “Of course both Beyoncé and Blue love music, she is a natural. She is very sassy, high energy and knows what she wants.
“Especially after the twins were born, Beyoncé made sure that Blue was able to embrace her new role as a big sister. She also lets her go to video shoots, award shows and music recording. They have a very special bond!”
