Jean Carroll has confirmed she might file a police report against her alleged sexual assailant, President Donald Trump after Mayor Bill de Blasio spoke out and promised to launch a criminal investigation.
While Carroll initially said she wouldn’t bother opening a case after accusing Trump of raping her, she had a change of heart after Mayor Blasio announced he would initiate a full-on investigation if a legal complaint against the president was filed.
Following the vow, the columnist appeared in an interview on CNN’s New Day and revealed she will consider filing a complaint.
According to 75-year-old Carroll, she was assaulted by Trump back in the mid-90s at a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room.
The shocking claims came to light in the columnist’s new book titled: ‘What Do We Need Men For? A Modest Proposal’
While Carroll originally told MSNBC she wasn’t interested in pressing charges against the president, she claimed the attack, which allegedly involved penetration, lasted around three minutes but scarred her for the rest of her life.
“It became a fight. And it hurt. And it was against my will,” she claimed.
Following the bold allegations, the White House lashed out at the columnist and called her story “completely false and unrealistic.”
“This is a completely false and unrealistic story surfacing 25 years after allegedly taking place and was created simply to make the President look bad,” they stated.
Trump has also hit back at the allegations and accused the woman of spreading false news to promote her new book.
“I’ve never met this person in my life. She is trying to sell a new book—that should indicate her motivation. It should be sold in the fiction section,” he said.
“Shame on those who make up false stories of assault to try to get publicity for themselves, or sell a book, or carry out a political agenda.”
Adding to the matter by speaking of Carroll’s lack of evidence, the president said:
“Ms. Carroll & New York Magazine: No pictures? No surveillance? No video? No reports? No sales attendants around?? I would like to thank Bergdorf Goodman for confirming they have no video footage of any such incident, because it never happened.
“If anyone has information that the Democratic Party is working with Ms. Carroll or New York Magazine, please notify us as soon as possible.
“The world should know what’s really going on. It is a disgrace and people should pay dearly for such false accusations.”
