Jeff and MacKenzie Bezos have just settled the most expensive divorce ever.
According to the settlement, the Amazon founder will keep with him 75 per cent of the stocks while his soon-to-be-ex-wife will be taking 25 per cent.
MacKenzie will get shares worth more than $35 billion, representing a four percent stake in the company, the Forbes reports.
Despite the settlement, Jeff will retain his title as the world’s richest man with a net worth totaling around $110 billion, with Microsoft founder Bill Gates being the runner-up with $99.5 billion net worth.
Jeff will take voting control over his wife’s stake in the company, besides her stock in the aerospace firm Blue Origin and the Washington Post.
The settlement was announced by the Bezos on their social media.
“I’m so grateful to all my friends and family for reaching out with encouragement and love,” Jeff tweeted. “It means more than you know. MacKenzie most of all.
“I’m grateful for her support and for her kindness in this process and am very much looking forward to our new relationship as friends and co-parents.
“In all our work together, MacKenzie’s abilities have been on full display. She has been an extraordinary partner, ally, and mother. She is resourceful and brilliant and loving, and as our futures unroll, I know I’ll always be learning from her.”

MacKenzie wrote on Twitter: “Grateful to have finished the process of dissolving my marriage with Jeff with support from each other and with help from everyone who reached out to us in kindness, and looking forward to next phase as co-parents and friends.
“Happy to be giving him all my interests in the Washington Post and Blue Origin, and 75% of our Amazon stock plus voting control of my shares to support his continued contributions with the teams of these incredible companies.
“Excited about my own plans. Grateful for the past as I look forward to what comes next.”

It hasn’t been revealed how the pair will divide their property portfolio. Also, it’s not known why they didn’t divide their Amazon stakes equally.
Jeff and MacKenzie announced their plans of divorce in January ‘after a long period of loving exploration and trial separation’.
They married each other in 1993 and share four children.
