Kylie Jenner and her entire family are known for two things – causing controversies of varying degrees and being one of the biggest influencers in social media.

A recent Instagram post by Jenner that received nearly 10M likes irked fashion designer Michael Costello.

Costello, who is 37, is known by the public for his role in “Project Runway”. He has not shied away from criticizing celebrities on his social media post, which is what he did.

Costello praised the fantastic work that his fellow designer Olivier Rousteig did on Jenner’s dress. He pointed out how celebrities such as Jenner never acknowledge the work of the chief and many other designers who put in countless hours into making the outfits.

He did say that there are times in which Jenner and her likes refer and acknowledge designers – when they get paid to promote them. Emphasizing that he is not criticizing Jenner out of personal spite, Costello said that it is not difficult at all for people like her to give a slight nod to them.

Jenner is no stranger to her failure to acknowledge the designers who dress her up in the highest-end outfits. Just last month, some argued that the Social Media influencer refused to recognize Loundbrand Studios, a fashion brand operated by an African America.

Although Jenner personally rebutted those accusations, the controversy still remains fresh in the minds of many. It is also interesting to note that Rousteing is no stranger to Jenner or the Kardashians, as the French designer has been a family friend for 10 years.

However, when interviewed by Page Six Style, Costello remained firm and stood his ground. The designer said that he simply had enough of celebrities only recognizing their work when paid and how they expect everyone to design something for them ahead of everything else.

Costello admitted that there are many celebrities and influencers who do not carry around that false sense of privilege. At the same time, he lamented how there are many who request and expect the finest works from them without giving them due credit at the end.

In the end, the designer said that all he believed in was that credit should be given where credit is due. Neither Jenner nor her reps have responded to the criticism.
