Only weeks after brushing of breakup rumors and infidelity claims, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have ended their four-year romance.
The couple released a statement and told Today: “We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects…
“We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support.”
Just last month, sources claimed that the former Yankees player, 45, and the 51-year-old singer ended their relationship after suffering problems for some time.
Alex and Jennifer said in a statement at that time that the claims about Alex’s friendship with Madison LeCroy, 30, were ‘inaccurate’ and that they were ‘working through some things.’
The pair were then seen kissing in the Dominican Republic during a family trip.
It was in 2017 when the couple started dating. In March 2019, they announced their engagement.
Jennifer’s twins Max and Emme, 13, already grew close to Rodriguez’s two daughters, Ella, 10, and Natasha, 14, whom he shares with Cynthia Rodriguez.
Alex and Jennifer were described as one of the most influential and strongest couples in American showbiz before the claims started last month.
Page Six reported at that time that Rodriguez’s alleged ‘friendship’ with Southern Charm star Madison was one of the reasons why the couple decided to break up while other insiders said that the split was ‘a long time coming.’
“The Madison LeCroy scandal was the reason they finally broke up. There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed by it,” a source told the publication.
