Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox And Other Celebrities Pay Tribute To Their Late ‘Friends’ Costar James Michael Tyler Following His Death


Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston were among the stars who paid tribute to their late costar James Michael Tyler, who passed away at his home in Los Angeles after battling prostate cancer for three years.

52-year-old Aniston took to Instagram and shared photos of Tyler, writing: “Friends would not have been the same without you.

“Thank you for the laughter you brought to the show and to all of our lives. You will be so missed,” adding #JamesMichaelTyler.

Cox, 57, also wrote: “The size of gratitude you brought into the room and showed every day on set is the size of the gratitude I hold for having known you. Rest In peace James.”

Lisa Kudrow, 58, wrote: “James Michael Tyler, we will miss you. Thank you for being there for us all.”

54-year-old Matt LeBlanc also shared photos of the actor, writing: “We had a lot of laughs buddy. You will be missed. RIP my friend.”

A rep for Tyler, who played Gunther on the hit NBC Friends, confirmed his passing to TMZ on Sunday.

His grieving family said in a statement: “The world knew him as Gunther (the seventh “Friend”), from the hit series “Friends,” but Michael’s loved ones knew him as an actor, musician, cancer-awareness advocate, and loving husband.

“Michael loved live music, cheering on his Clemson Tigers, and would often find himself in fun and unplanned adventures. If you met him once you made a friend for life.”

It was in 2018 when the actor was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He did not publicly reveal his battle against the disease until earlier this year.

He appeared on 150 episodes of Friends during its run from 1994 to 2004.

Tyler, who died at the age of 59, also appeared on shows including Scrubs, Just Shoot Me!, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Modern Music.
