Jessica Alba has pledged to donate three million diapers to those struggling because of the coronavirus pandemic.
As the 38-year-old Hollywood actress and the founder of The Honest Company revealed in her Instagram post, her company pledged a massive donation of baby care supplies including millions of diapers among other stuff.
“Snuggling with my littles feeling grateful and emotional as we’ve been adjusting to this new normal – I can’t help but think of all the families with babies & young children who aren’t getting what they need to get by,” Alba wrote in her post accompanied by a photo of her and her son Hayes.
“My company @honest pledged today to donate 3M diapers 20k personal care products and 30k wipes to @baby2baby – but the need for these families includes so much more… #staysafe #practicekindness #sendinglove to you all.”
The charity that Alba chose to receive the donation is Baby2Baby, a non-profit that provides children from financially unstable families with basic necessities.
As the organization explained on its website, they also allow Good Samaritans to donate essential supplies like diapers, hygiene products, and baby formula which they then distribute to those most affected by the pandemic.
Previously, dozens of Hollywood stars have spoken out about the pandemic in an attempt to raise awareness and urged people to self-isolate and stay indoors.
One of them was also Idris Elba, the Sexiest Man Alive of 2018 according to People, who was recently diagnosed with COVID-19.
“One of the upsides of this whole drama is that we are forced to think together as a race. Our world has been taking a kicking. We have damaged our world and it’s no surprise that our world is reacting to the human race,” Mr. Elba told Oprah in a video call.
“It is no surprise that a virus has been created that is going to slow us down, and ultimately make us think differently about our world and ourselves.”
In his video following the diagnosis, the 47-year-old also urged people to social distance to prevent the spreading of the killer bug.
“Look, this is serious. Now is the time to start thinking about social distancing, washing your hands. Beyond that there are people out there who aren’t showing symptoms, and that can easily spread it,” he said.
