A woman has claimed to have seen a silhouette of Jesus Christ appear in the flames that engulfed and badly damaged the 856-year-old Notre Dame Cathedral.
After inspecting the images of the inferno, Lesley Rowan came across a photo that had sent shivers down her spine. In the picture, the woman spotted a figure that she believes to be the son of God.
Following the initial shock, Lesley shared the photo on Facebook and asked the people whether they can see what she sees.
“I may be letting my mind play tricks on me here, folks take a close look at this picture and what do you see,” the 38-year-old captioned the picture.
Despite her doubts, Lesley’s post soon went viral with plenty of people suggesting they spotted an outline of Jesus Christ within the blazing fire.
“When I looked at this photo last night, I was really astounded by what I saw. When I look at it I see a silhouette of Jesus. I really see a vivid image,” Lesley said in an interview with Daily Record.
“I feel like it will bring comfort to people in Paris and all over the world at this sad time.”
After the post went viral, fellow social media users expressed their thoughts on the alleged silhouette of Jesus.
“Looks like a figure of Jesus, or I am tripping?” one person said.
“I can see it pretty clear, gown and all,” another one added. “Yeah I saw it straight away – it’s Jesus!”
Meanwhile, the French President, Emmanuel Macron, announced that the cathedral will be rebuilt and that it will be “even more beautiful” as he asked the nation to “come together.”
“We will rebuild Notre Dame even more beautiful and I want it to be completed in five years, we can do it,” he said.
