Twitter Goes Wild As J-Lo Made A Political Statement At The Super Bowl Half-Time Show


Jennifer Lopez seemed to have taken the chance to indirectly stand against Donald Trump’s immigration policies during her Super Bowl half time show on Sunday night.

She made a huge statement at the performance as it featured Latino children in cages and sang a version of “Born in the USA.”

This includes her 11-year-old daughter, Emme, who sang a part of “Let’s Get Loud” before J.Lo appeared in a giant American flag coat, which also showed a Puerto Rican flag on the other side.

According to a source, Emme sang on stage as the symbol of the American dream, and the lightning that appeared behind them reflects a fence.

Emme, who is also Marc Anthony’s daughter gave a chilling performance as she belted out her mother’s hit song “Let’s Get Loud” during the performance.

She was part of the choir of identically dressed children who sat inside a round cage, until she emerged to give her solo performance.

As J.Lo continued performing “Let’s Get Loud”, Emme switched into the 1984 Bruce Springsteen song Born In The U.S.A.

The Trump administration’s decision supporting “zero tolerance” immigration policy at the US-Mexico border sparked controversy as hundreds of children got separated from their parents.

The separation policy started on April 2018 and ended on June 2018, after receiving national and international criticism.

However, despite its official end, hundreds of other children were reported to have been separated from their parents.

The House Committee on Oversight and Reform reports states that in July 2019, over 700 children have been separated from their parents since the end of the policy.

To acknowledge her Puerto Rican heritage, Lopez wore a feathered cape that shows the US flag on one side and the Puerto Rican flag on the other.

The multi – awarded singer was born in the Bronx to Puerto Rican parents and has always been proud of her heritage.
