Playing With Fire’s John Cena Donated $500,000 To Help ‘Hero’ Firefighters Amid Wildfires


Playing With Fire’s star John Cena has made a generous, $500,000 donation to California firefighters in order to assist whom he believes to be the true heroes in the battle against wildfires.

As the WWE superstar wrestler insisted, “it is the right thing” to help first responders with any means necessary as they struggle and risk their own lives to save the innocent.

“Right now, California is in dire straits. It is burning. It is under siege from massive wildfires statewide,” Cena said in his Twitter video in which he honored the first responders.

“Which means our first responders are working around the clock and they need our help. Today I asked myself what can I do… Out of respect to the people who I truly believe are heroes, my response will be to immediately donate $500,000 to this cause.”

In the video that quickly went viral, the 42-year-old actor wished everyone good luck and urged people to do their part.

“In times like this, when people are giving their lives and working around the clock, what they need from us is resources. This is the right thing to do and I’m doing my part to help the cause. I wish everyone the best of luck,” he added.

John Cena, who took on the role of a firefighter in the movie Playing with Fire, also expressed his hopes that others will follow his example and make a donation.

“I’m asking that today on #FirstRespondersDay we do everything we can do to help those who risk their lives to protect us all,” the 42-year-old captioned his post.
