supervillain movie ‘Joker’ has become the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, beating Fox’s ‘Deadpool’ and ‘Deadpool 2.’
Joker has earned over $788 million, surpassing Deadpool’s $782 million and Deadpool 2’s $785 million.
Starring Joaquin Phoenix and directed by Todd Phillips, Joker gained significant hype and controversy before its release on October 4.
Nevertheless, it gained $94 million at the domestic box office during the opening weekend.
The star of Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds, has shared his congratulations on social media with a naughty message.
The 43-year-old star posted a photo of Joker dancing at the top of a staircase with words ‘YOU MOTHER F****R’ above it.
The amusing message was signed off with love from the lead characters of other R-rated movies.
Other characters included Bill Skarsgard’s evil clown Pennywise from It and Keanu Reeves’ Neo from The Matrix Reloaded.
The 7th one was Jim Caviezel’s Jesus in The Passion of the Christ, eight was The Wolfpack – the buddies played by Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper and Zach Galifinakis in The Hangover Part II.
Number 9 was Jamie Dornan’s Mr. Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey and number 10 was Seth MacFarlane’s title teddy bear in Ted.
“R-Rated box office congratulatory posts aren’t like the ones you’re used to…,” Ryan tweeted with the meme.
One internet user commented: “Actually love this sort sense of humour, wish there was more of it from Hollywood.”
Another wrote: “I love Ryan Reynolds’ personality. He’s got a great sense of humor.”
A third said: “Deadpool 2 is better than this new Joker movie.”
Someone else wrote: “Well with Price increases it would take more money Films should be judges by admission . But the Big problem with that yard stick “Gone with the wind” would always come out top.”
