Tragic reports have confirmed how a Judge denied an emergency petition which was initially filed by a pet owner to save a stranded pet inside the collapsed Florida condo.
Just one hour after the decision was made, that particular structure was razed down to the ground with the helpless pet stuck inside, confirmed local media outlets.
Moreover, Attorney Paula Phillips explains how the request was filed during the morning hours on Sunday at the Circuit Court in Miami-Dade. This was done on behalf of an animal rescue volunteer who goes by the name of Stacey Karron. She made full arrangements to go and rescue the helpless animal as reported by the Miami Herald.
But to everyone’s surprise, things didn’t quite go as planned as the plea was rejected.
New details into the investigation revealed how Karron mentioned beforehand how she would have released any individual from the liability in case she injured herself during the rescue efforts from the building.
While the exact name of the stranded pet was not disclosed in the case during a recent hearing of the incident or in the motion too, many suggest that it could possibly have been a cat named Coco. It was suspected that that cat was residing on the fourth floor of the building, alongside an 89-year-old woman as well as her daughter.
Reports went on to reveal how firefighters did their ultimate best in terms of rescue efforts to try and get Coco out to safety but they just couldn’t. Instead, they chose to use a cherry picker to leave some food and water for the little animal.
Karron’s lawyer argued how he agreed that there was an incredible amount of risk involved and they understood that since the building could come down at any time. But the judge refused to grant them permission, turning down the request immediately.
