Dame Judi Dench has become the oldest cover star of British Vogue as she hit the cover page of the fashion magazine with a classy shot.
Appearing on the cover of the 2020 June edition, the 85-year-old star, who played in movie hits like Philomena, Mrs. Brown, Shakespeare in Love, and James Bond films, looked elegant as she donned a trench coat by Dolce & Gabbana.
As the English actress told Vogue, she has no plans of retiring despite the fact that she’s been working for six decades.
“No, no, no, no. Don’t use that word, Giles. Not in this house. Not here. Wash your mouth out!” she joked when asked about the possibility to end her career.
Dench made her first professional appearance in 1957. In the following years, she focused on theater plays before managing to win the BAFTA Award as Most Promising Newcomer.
In the following decades, she continued to make her way up the ladder in the entertainment industry before rising to international fame as she appeared in GoldenEye (1995).
While the actress vowed to stay in action, she is currently self-isolating at her home due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I am sure I feel like everyone else, such unprecedented times are quite hard to comprehend,” she said of the matter.
“What is a good thing is that it has made people aware of the predicament of others who are completely alone. If a great deal of kindness comes out of this, then that will be a plus.”
