Kanye West tried to get rid of the jewelry he had previously bought for Kim Kardashian according to an insider.
As the source admitted in an interview with The Sun, the rapper consulted two jewelers about the option to sell the jewelry of his estranged wife just days before Kardashian filed for divorce.
“In the last two weeks, Kanye was attempting to sell jewelry he had purchased for Kim to at least two top jewelers,” the insider insisted.
While the source claimed Kanye was still very much in love with his estranged wife, the rapper was allegedly left torn because he didn’t want to be “connected to the Kardashian brand anymore.”
“Kanye recently said, ‘I don’t want to be connected to the Kardashian brand anymore’ but he was so torn because he still very much loves Kim,” they added.
“Although he never ended up selling the jewelry he was talking about how he didn’t want to be reminded of the past.”
Among other expensive jewelry pieces the 43-year-old rapper bought for his partner during their 7-year marriage were the $3 million 15-carat engagement ring and the $1 million diamond necklace by Lorraine Schwartz.
It is not clear whether Kanye attempted to sell these or other jewelry he had bought for his wife throughout the years.
As the insider also told The Sun, the rapper “really wanted to stay together” with Kim “but she was done.”
The revelation follows shortly after Kim filed for divorce and after People revealed that the Kardashian is “ready to move on” with her life.
As their source admitted, Kim has allegedly been contemplating divorce for a long time because of the pair’s broken marriage.
“Their marriage has been broken for a long time. Kim feels like she has done everything she can to save it. Filing for divorce is something she has been thinking about for a long time. She has also been dreading it,” an insider said.
