A furious ‘Karen’ was caught on camera spitting at a gas station worker after being told that she must wear a mask.
The argument occurred after the woman was asked by the worker to wear a mask and she responded by lashing out and spitting onto the counter.
The gas station worker tried to stay calm and refused to serve the angry customer.
“This is ridiculous! There’s no law that says I have to wear a face mask,” the furious woman yells, to which the worker responds, “Actually there is!”
Another customer filmed the shocking incident and shared the video on Twitter, writing, “I’ve been hearing about “Karen” but hadn’t been around one. I encountered one in the wild tonight and it blew my mind.”
She added, “She spit on an essential worker bc he enforced the rule of wear a mask. In response, she spit on him in. I wanted to cry.”
One internet user commented: “I wear my mask out of respect for those who might not feel comfortable going out but must.
Also, who’s to say I’m not a super spreader? There just aren’t enough facts out there to know what to do, so I err on the side of caution both for me, and for you. I wouldn’t want to kill anybody by accident, so I wear the mask because it’s the least I can do.
”
Another shared: “Retail workers should start carrying mace or pepper spray for protection from out of control Karens.”
A third said: “She should be arrested immediately. Saliva carries a lot of diseases.”
