Kate Middleton who’s known to be inexpressive about her emotions couldn’t conceal signs of strains on her face as she celebrated her birthday after bearing the shocking news of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s split from the royals.
According to Phil Dampier, who’s been writing about the royal family for years, Kate’s 38th birthday celebrations were almost spoiled by the news of the couple’s decision to become ‘financially independent.’
Speaking to Fabulous Digital, he said: “Apart from anything else Harry and Meghan’s announcement has overshadowed Kate’s 38th birthday.”
Expressing his concerns about the future relationship of the royal brothers, he said: “It’s just another example how far the so-called Fab Four have drifted apart and I doubt Harry and Meghan will be at any celebrations for Kate.
“It’s a sad day for the monarchy that these two brothers and their wives, who had the potential to be such a positive force are now in this position.”
All members of the royal family including the Queen, Prince Phillip, Prince Charles, and his second wife, Camilla, wished the Duchess of Cambridge on her special day.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also wished Kate by commenting on the birthday post shared by Kensington Palace on social media.
They wrote: “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Cambridge today!”
According to royal sources, discussions with Harry and Meghan are at an ‘early stage’ and can become ‘complicated.’
Moreover, it’s also revealed that ‘the Queen is deeply upset’ and ‘Duke of Cambridge are incandescent with rage’ on the couple’s decision.
Surrounded by the thoughts of the royal split, Kate, celebrated her 38th birthday by spending time with her close friends in Norfolk.
She also went to a church in Sandringham with her parents and friends.
A royal source told Fabulous Digital that Prince William had a big hand in planning family get-together on the duchess’ birthday at Kensington Palace.
Speaking of the duchess’ birthday preps, the insider stated: “William has been in charge of sorting Kate’s birthday, with major help from both Pippa Middleton and mum Carole.
“Kate likes nothing better than handmade cards and pictures from her children, so there will be an abundance of hand prints, footprints, clay models and photos for Kate to be thrilled with.
“George and Charlotte with Norland Nanny Maria Borallo have a couple of surprises up their well laundered sleeves… with greetings apparently in Spanish and French.
“Both children love a microphone so it is thought they have recorded a birthday greeting or song. The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will remain at Sandringham.”
