Kate Middleton and Prince William managed to surprise their fans by releasing two brand-new portraits to mark their special day.
Celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary, the couple appeared happier than ever as they posed for simple yet elegant portraits at Kensington Palace.
Though the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are known for playing it safe when it comes to taking photos intended to be released to the public, they this time hired a celebrity photographer Chris Floyd to capture their special moments.
Floyd is a well-established portrait photographer who worked with the likes of Sir Paul McCartney, David Bowie, Oasis, The Verve, and Supergrass in the past.
In one of the photos, Kate and William are seen standing close to each other with the duchess’s head leaning towards her husband’s chest. The pair is smiling from ear to ear as they indulge in a warm embrace in the palace’s courtyard.
In the other portrait, the duke and duchess are sitting on a garden bench while holding hands as William stares deeply at Kate’s dazzling eyes.
For the special occasion, the future king went casual by donning a blue jumper and a shirt. Meanwhile, his wife wore a blue ‘Avery’ dress by Ghost complemented by a dark sapphire and diamond engagement ring from Princess Diana.
According to the royal insiders, the couple continues to put their three children first, whereas William is “extremely proud” of his wife for adapting to the royal lifestyle.
“She’s made the job her own and given him a beautiful family. They are a real team now,” a source said.
