After nearly two decades, Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves have appeared together for the fourth iteration of The Matrix.
Keanu, 55, and Carrie, 52, were spotted filming thrilling scenes of the upcoming movie as they raced across the streets of San Francisco on a bike last Tuesday.
As part of producing the highly awaited fourth episode of the famous sci-fi drama, the actor and actress have assumed their roles as Neo and Trinity again.
Seeing Keanu shooting the scenes of the upcoming installment of The Matrix, anyone could tell that it was not at all difficult for the star to blend into his old role.
He was seen wearing the same iconic all-black apparel, dressed in a grey T-shirt and matching jeans, topped off with a longline black coat.
Recently getting fame as John Wick, the star looked a bit more of the dog-lover hitman than Neo as he showed off his long hair and neatly styled beard.
Pairing a pair of denim jeans with a black shiny biker’s jacket, Carrie was totally into the computer hacker Trinity role.
Trinity has been brought back from the dead after she sustained life-threatening injuries while on her journey in Machine City in Matrix Revolution.
Neo also had a similar fate in the last Matrix movie when he sacrificed himself while fighting Agent Smith, played by Hugo Weaving, to eliminate the Smith Virus and reboot the Matrix.
The plot of the latest Matrix movie is being kept a secret, for obvious reasons, hence it is difficult to contemplate how the two lead characters have been resurrected.
Other stars expected to appear in the upcoming Matrix movie include Jada Pinkett, Priyanka Chopra, Neil Patrick Harris, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
However, Hugo Weaving, who played Agent Smith, told in the start of 2020 that he would not be able to play his role in the new Matrix iteration as he is a bit too preoccupied in The Visit at the National Theatre and there are scheduling conflicts between his timings and the movie’s shooting.
The first Matrix movie hit the large screens in March 1999, becoming the sci-fi sensation of the time, earning $465 million worldwide, of which $171 million was made in the domestic market.
The second movie of the series, The Matrix Reloaded, was released in 2003 and it earned a total of $700 million on the box office worldwide.
The third iteration of the franchise made $427 million in worldwide sales. Now, we are looking forward to seeing what sort of business the fourth edition might do.
