Kim Kardashian, 40, and Kanye West, 43, have officially filed for divorce.
Their relationship had been rocky the past few months, the couple’s marriage resulted in Kardashian becoming disillusioned with their marriage — the divorce was necessary between the two of them.
There is a lot of maturity that goes on from a heartbreak, and Kim has outgrown their marriage. In recent news, Kardashian is ready to persevere through her obstacles in life, wanting to take the bar exam to become a lawyer while working on her prison reform campaign. “Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy shit, and she’s just had enough of it.”
There have been public speculation as to how their marriage was going, and it’s been a while since they started to talk about splitting up. Kim tells The Talk, “He’s my husband, so I obviously want to honor what he’s feeling but he’s going through this life change, and it’s mostly about the kids.”
There have been struggles to adjust to the four of their kids on West’s end, he’s “very cautious about what we have in the house… He’s been very… had this epiphany of… being a little bit more strict as a dad and being very forceful on the imagery that’s in our household and what they see.
“He’s gonna do things that I don’t agree with, but there’s also that fine line of staying firm and doing what you feel comfortable with.”
The couple spent 2020 apart most of the time, Kim had been in LA with their children while Kanye had been in Wyoming. They did not get the chance to go out during Thanksgiving or Christmas, usually the holidays where families take time to meet up and celebrate.
Kim confirms that there had been issues between the two of them, that their rocky relationship has been “challenging” but she uses the divorce as a scapegoat to “cleanse” her entire life, to start anew and go on her own path.
She tells Vogue, “I think it’s been a time to regenerate, get creative, spend so much time with family. And just this time I’ve been able to spend with my children has been priceless. I also think it was a huge cleanse and just a huge opportunity to really be grateful for the simple things.”
