Since the shooting of Jacob Blake and two victims who were killed in the ensuing protests, information about the people who were involved in the event is surfacing.
Today, one of the victim’s girlfriend has come out to say that her boyfriend was killed while protecting others.
Hannah Gittings recalled the last moments of her boyfriend Anthony Huber who was just 26 years old. According to Gittings, when Huber saw the gunman, he pushed her to the side and rushed toward the armed man.
After all that has passed, Gittings believes that that was her boyfriend’s way of telling her to go to a safe place. She looks back to the moment and says she should have stayed with Huber no matter what he did. At the same time, she said she could not have changed Huber’s mind.
Late Tuesday night, Huber and Gittings were among the many who were still gathered to protest the shooting of Blake by the Kenosha police officers. Since then, 17 year old Kyle Rittenhouse from Illinois has been arrested as the suspect. He faces charges of homicide and attempted homicide.
While Rittenhouse was armed with a fully loaded gun, Huber only had a skateboard in his hand. Documents tell what happened during the last moments of Huber’s life. Huber approached the gunman and tried to take away his gun, when Rittenhouse turned and fired a round in Huber’s body.
After sustaining the gunshot wound, Huber reportedly staggered for a while before collapsing to the ground. The document confirmed that his cause of death was the gunshot wound.
Gittings described her late boyfriend’s last actions as heroic. Saying that Huber had no reason whatsoever to shed last his breath in the streets of Kenosha, Gittings said that Rittenhouse had absolutely no right to take away what Huber had left of his life.
The other victim who was fatally shot during the scuttle has been identified as Joseph D. Rosenbaum. A third victim, Gaige P. Grosskreutz, was shot in the arm.
It has been reported that while a nearby reporter rushed to perform CPR on the dying Huber, Rittenhouse ran way after making a call in which he told the other person that he just killed someone.
