Sleeping with your kids can be both a joy and a pain.
Joy because you get to snuggle together and bond just before they go to bed but it’s also a pain because if your children are restless sleepers, they can leave you wanting for sleep as well.
That was the case for mother-of-two Natalie Pavitt whose children were just hogging the whole bed and left her feeling quite cramped. Her solution? She created her own massive 9-foot bed after her double bed just wasn’t enough anymore.
The whole project set her back by £440($600) but her dramatically improved sleep more than made up for what she spent.
Natalie shared her experience in the Facebook group Mrs. Hinch Made Me Do It, writing: “Bed goals. No more fighting for space in our household.
“Basically we got two double divan beds with no-slip mattresses and they butt up together completely flush! (Meaning no gap for anyone to fall down, you can lay on the join and not know any difference).
“We’ve used two king duvets and eight pillows plus two double sheets.”
The savvy mom added the cost: “Total width of the bed is 9ft. Cost us £440 including delivery rather than the £2,000($2600) plus we got quoted for custom made! Ours even has drawers.”
Natalie added that she ordered the beds from Bedcentre through Amazon and she threw in two divan bases with mattresses as well as headboards for £216($280) per bed.
Equally harassed parents were impressed with Natalie’s life hack and her post quickly got over 1,400 likes.
One person said: “I and my partner keep joking about doing this coz we sleep in different beds and have a child each but don’t have the room to do it.”
Another added: “I am extremely jealous of this. If my bedroom was big enough I’d do this in a heartbeat.”
While a third one said: “I need this in my life.”
