With the transition of power in the US nearly complete, North Korea’s Supreme Leader appeared to have warned Joe Biden that the US is still the country’s biggest enemy.
As Kim Jong-Un suggested while calling for North Korea’s policies to “be focused and redirected on subduing the US,” nothing will change when it comes to the hostile relations between the two nations.
“Our foreign political activities should be focused and redirected on subduing the US, our biggest enemy and main obstacle to our innovated development,” the Supreme Leader reportedly said as he addressed the Workers’ Party of Korea.
“No matter who is in power in the US, the true nature of the US and its fundamental policies towards North Korea never change.”
Kim Jong-Un also vowed to develop new weapons and expand the country’s nuclear arsenal as he insisted North Korea will forge stronger ties with “anti-imperialist, independent forces.”
Apparently referring to the incoming US President Joe Biden, the Supreme Leader said that “no matter who is in power, the true nature of its policy against North Korea will never change” as he branded the States the “biggest enemy” of North Korea.
While Kim Jong-Un maintained his composure while addressing the relations with the States, he later broke down into tears as he apologized to his people over his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Our people have placed trust, as high as the sky and as deep as the sea, in me, but I have failed to always live up to it satisfactorily. I am really sorry for that,” the Supreme Leader said as he sympathized with the people watching the televised address.
“Although I am entrusted with the important responsibility to lead this country, upholding the cause of the great Comrades Kim Il-sung and Kim Jong-il; thanks to the trust of all the people, my efforts and sincerity have not been sufficient enough to rid our people of the difficulties in their lives.”
