The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star has hit back at critics and defended her daughter North after fans doubted the 7-year-old was the artist behind an impressive artwork.
Kim Kardashian, 40, shared a beautiful painting drawn by North on Instagram, writing: “My little artist North.”
But her fans were quick to express their disbelief that the painting was created by her daughter.
One skeptical Twitter user wrote: “You’re telling me North West is out here drawing like she is Bob Ross.. and I’m over here still drawing stick figures at 25?!?”
Another wrote: “I’m supposed to work but i can’t stop thinking about how north west did not paint this.”
A third added: “Kim Kardashian’s child did not paint this. You can even see the photo shop signature. And even if you didn’t, it’s Kim K so you have to take everything she says with a heavy spoonful of salt.”
The proud mother then took to Instagram to slam critics, writing: “DON’T PLAY WITH ME WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILDREN,” she wrote.
“My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured. North worked incredibly hard on her painting which took several weeks to complete. As a proud mom, I wanted to share her work with everyone.
“I’m seeing op-ed pieces in the media and social media from grown adults breaking down whether or not my child actually painted this! How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome!?!?!
“Please stop embarrassing yourselves with the negativity and allow every child to be GREAT!!! NORTH WEST PAINTED THAT.”
Kim’s friend Tracy Romulus, whose daughter is best friends with the 7-year-old, also came to the star’s defense and said that their children go to the same art class.
“I have that I have to comment but grown adults are putting a lot of energy into questioning whether or not my daughter and her best friend actually painted the works we have shared proudly as parents,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Both girls are in art class together and learning oil painting techniques from an instructor. They spend weeks at a time on a single painting and are incredibly proud of themselves once they complete a project.”
Romulus added: “They are following a curriculum but the works are original, starting from a blank canvas and each child’s interpretation. Please stop with the negativity and commenting @ me with your doubts on a child’s ability.
“It’s people like you who keep a children from dreaming big or reaching their fullest potential.”
