A young man found someone selling a bike that was worth £1,350 just for £80 so he knew something was fishy.
He bought the bike and then found a lock on the bike.
Knowing how much the bike costs, he was sure someone had their bike stolen and then the burglar sold it to him. So he posted a picture of the bike on his social media to track down the right full owner of the bike.
He posted the picture of the bike with the caption “Did anyone have their bike stolen? The bike still has the lock on which says it is from the Crosby area. Bought this so that I can return it to the owner because I know it would be heartbreaking to lose such a bike.”
Apparently, the post received a lot of attention and hundreds of shares because of which the owner of the bike was able to find it and he texted Ste Burke.
Ste then posted again on his social media saying “Gladly I found the owner of the bike. He texted me and made my day. The guy had his house robbed but he was glad that he could have his bike back. It meant so much to him and I felt happy too.
He had the key to the lock and the paperwork.
The poor guy just had a burglary in his house 2 days ago and they took all his stuff. He is happy to have his bike back. He asked me to take the money I had spent in buying the bike bag but how can I take money from someone who just got his house robbed?
I am just happy that he can have his bike back at least that he had bought a year ago for £1,250.”
