Kirby Morrow, the iconic voice actor who lent his voice to Goku in Dragon Ball Z, has passed away at the age of 47.
As reported by The Wrap, the legendary voice actor who provided his voice to Goku in DBZ, Miroku in Inuyasha, and Cyclops in X-Men: Evolution, has met his end at the age of 47. No cause of death has been specified.
Announcing the actor’s death was also his brother, Casey, who paid a tribute to his iconic brother in a Facebook post.
“Kirby was a blessed and talented individual who brought joy to so many but also thrived off all your love and friendship. He lived for it and it fueled him every day,” he wrote.
Besides Morrow’s credits as a voice actor, the 47-year-old also appeared in several movies such as The Pastor’s Wife, A Ring By Spring, and High Moon. He also appeared in several popular TV series including Stargate Atlantis, Supergirl, and The Flash.
Following the actor’s death, fans and colleagues have showered the late star with tributes on social media.
“We’re incredibly sad to hear the news of voice actor Kirby Morrow’s passing. He was an amazing talent and we were honored to have worked with him on Inuyasha and Yashahime. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time,” VIZ Media tweeted.
Paying respects to Mr. Morrow was also his co-star Kelly Sheridan who worked with the actor in several productions including Inuyasha.
“Shocked and deeply saddened to hear of the passing of dear @Kirby_Morrow. It seems at every important stage in my career, he was there at the mic right next to mine,” she wrote in a post along with a photo in which the late star is seen giving her a peck on the cheek.
“Jay, Van, Nutcracker Prince, Miroku. My good luck charm. He’ll be so very missed by myself & our entire community.”
