There is no doubt that the internet was made so people could enjoy looking at animal videos and photos all day.
And recently, pictures of a cute kitty who looks exactly like baby Yoda took over the internet.
The adorable cat was seen by Jana Aviles, a veterinary assistant, who took some photos when the feline arrived at the veterinary hospital in North Carolina.
Aviles shared the photos and wrote: “I met this little cutie while working at the vet’s yesterday. She was brought in by a rescue after she was found as an injured stray. She is so cute, like, have you ever?”
Her post immediately received thousands of comments, with many saying that the adorable feline looks like Baby Yoda while others said they wanted to adopt her.
In another post, Aviles informed followers that she was not responsible for rehoming the cute cat.
“There is only ONE Yoda cat, so there is only ONE home out there for her. So many people have offered to travel across the country to adopt this cat, and even people from other countries have reached out to me,” she wrote.
Aviles also used the viral post’s reach to mention that four million stray cats are taken into animal shelters every year in the United States but only 1.4 million felines are euthanized yearly.
“Everyone please check your local shelters. I guarantee you that your new best friend is waiting for you as I type this. Yoda cat may look cool, but looks aren’t everything. If you adopt a new pet because of this post, please comment their picture here and encourage others to adopt too,” Aviles added.
