Kobe Bryant’s daughter, Natalia, shared photos of herself wearing a princess dress for her senior prom.
The 18-year-old posted the photo two nights after the event, which her proud mother Vanessa revealed she ‘almost missed.’
“I love you baby!” her mother commented.
Various celebrities including Dakota Fanning, Bella Harris, Lilly Collins, Jennifer Meyer, and Kelly Rowland praised the teen.
Natalia’s senior prom was scheduled the same night as her late father’s induction ceremony into the NBA Hall Of Fame.
Even though Vanessa was at Kobe’s induction, she managed to make it to her daughter’s prom night.
The posthumous Hall Of Fame induction was initially scheduled for August 2020 but it was postponed because of the pandemic.
Natalia shared a short video of herself on Insta Stories and recreated a scene from The Princess Diaries.
In the clip, she appeared in normal clothes and mouthed along to actress Anne Hathaway saying: “A- a princess? Shut UP!” Shen then cut to videos of her twirling around in her pink dress.
On Sunday, Vanessa shared a sweet photo with Natalia, writing: “Natalia almost missed her senior prom last night.”
Vanessa added: “When I was a senior in high school, Kobe and I were engaged and he had a playoff game the night of my prom. Kobe didn’t want me going to prom without him and I didn’t want to go without him.”
Vanessa and Kobe met when she was 17 and he was 21. They became engaged while she was still a senior in high school.
“When we heard Natalia’s prom night and Kobe’s Hall of Fame night were on the same night, I looked at Natalia and said, ‘well if it’s any consolation, daddy kept me from going to my prom, so it’s only right that he tried to keep you from going to yours,’” Vanessa wrote.
“Of course we laughed because even in heaven, he’s still trying to make moves and keep the boys away.”
Vanessa added: “Natalia’s experienced so much loss, I couldn’t let her miss out on her once in a lifetime opportunity to go to her senior prom. Thank you for flying out to accept daddy’s Hall of Fame jacket and fly home the next morning.”
