Donut chain Krispy Kreme has introduced new mini donuts that contain less than 100 calories.
The initiative that was announced last Monday is really the best new year news for calorie-conscious people because the addition of these light calorie food in Krispy Kreme’s menu is permanent.
The new donuts will come in four different varieties which are basically the smaller versions of the company’s existing popular donuts.
The new donut treats with their energy amount are Original Glazed, containing just 90 calories, Strawberry Iced with Sprinkles, having 130 calories, Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles, also having 130 calories, and Chocolate Iced Glazed, having only 120 calories.
It’s really amazing that Krispy Kreme has prepared such light-calorie delights when the calorie amount in normal donuts is usually no less than 400.
The food chain itself has termed its mini delights as the biggest innovation of 2020 in terms of desserts.
The company suggested fans on its official Twitter account to take these mini donuts as ‘CheatSweet’ for cheat day snacks.
Talking about the new commodity, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme, Dave Skena, said in a press statement: “Sometimes a mini-indulgence is all you need to stick with your New Years resolution.”
Still, the best part of the new launch is the happy hour, termed as ‘Mini Mondays’ by the food company.
The dessert chain has announced that they’ll provide a free mini-donut of buyer’s choice on Mondays from 4 to 7 p.m. for the whole month of January 2020.
Before the company officially announced the launch of mini delights, it shared a video on Twitter to drop a hint that something big was about to be introduced.
The doughnut corporation also asked its followers to comment on what they think it could be.
While many people suggested it to be Krispy Kreme ice-creams, some guessed it right, writing that the new product could be mini doughnuts.
Krispy Kreme also came up with filled doughnuts as its innovation of the year when the company was celebrating its 82nd birthday in 2019.
