If reports are to believed Kylie Jenner may sell her makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics.
Isn’t it shocking? Well, according to reports, Kylie is in talks with Coty Inc. to sell over half of her makeup brand.
Coty Inc. owns CoverGirl, OPI, Sally Hansen, Rimmel London, and many more.
According to WWD, Kylie would be selling over half of Kylie Cosmetics to the global beauty brand, Coty Inc.
However, she will still be owning a full 49% of her makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics.
According to WWD, Kylie has been looking for investors for quite some time.
This is quite shocking that Kylie would be selling the makeup brand that made her the youngest billionaire.
Forbes included Kylie on its list of the world’s billionaires and called her the youngest self-made billionaire ever.
The 21-year-old was criticized after she was called a “self-made” billionaire by Forbes.
But, Kylie defended herself at the time saying, “I can’t say I’ve done it by myself. If they’re just talking finances, technically, yes, I don’t have any inherited money. But I have had a lot of help and a huge platform.”
“There’s really no other word to use other than ‘self-made’ because that is the truth. That is the category that I fall under…I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15.”
“I used 100% of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited, and I am very proud of that.”
Now, the 21-year-old is planning to sell the company. In May, Kris Jenner told WWD that “there will always be some interest” in selling over the company.
Well, time will tell if Kylie is really selling her makeup brand, Kylie Cosmetics to Coty Inc. or it is just a rumour.
