Lara Trump was left furious after the video of her interview with Donald Trump got removed from Facebook and Instagram.
In a fierce attack on tech giants, Lara accused the social media giants of attempting to silence Trump and everything he’s got to say after they removed the video of his interview from her page.
Calling out the media moguls for sticking to their indefinite ban of the former president from their platforms, the 38-year-old The Right View host accused Facebook and Instagram of communism.
“It’s so crazy. Today it is Donald Trump. Tomorrow it could be you,” she said of the platforms’ decision to remove the video showing her interview with Donald Trump.
“This is not the country we want to live in, this happens in communist countries.”
Lara went on to blast the tech giants for allegedly attempting to “erase” Trump and force Americans to forget about his existence.
“But I think the message is they want to erase Donald Trump. They want you to forget he existed. They don’t want you to see him, they don’t want you to hear from him, look away, move on, shut up and go on about your lives, forget Donald Trump existed. This is really scary stuff,” she added.
Lara’s blatant attack on social media follows shortly after Facebook and Instagram removed her video in which Donald Trump was seen criticizing President Biden’s green agenda and the handling of the situation at the southern border. The former president also blasted the media and took a jab at cancel culture.
On Tuesday night, just minutes before the interview with Trump was about to air on Facebook, the platform reached out to Lara to warn her they would delete the content if it went live.
“I saw on Lara Trump’s Instagram account that she will be hosting an interview with President Trump tonight. Just a reminder that content posted on Facebook and Instagram in the voice of President Trump is not currently allowed on our platforms,” the warning read. “and will be removed if posted, resulting in additional limitations on accounts that posted it.”
Less than half an hour later, after Lara’s interview with Trump went live, the team received another e-mail confirming their content had been removed.
“We are reaching out to let you know that we removed content from Lara Trump’s Facebook Page that featured President Trump speaking,” the update read.
“In line with the block we placed on Donald Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts, further content posted in the voice of Donald Trump will be removed and result in additional limitations on the accounts.”
Sharing screenshots of the messages she received from the tech giants, Lara Trump tweeted: “And just like that, we are one step closer to Orwell’s 1984. Wow.”
