Fallen Officer’s Wife Takes Maternity Photos With The Police Force

On Father’s Day in 2016, Meghan Jacobs decided to do a maternity photo shoot.

What she hadn’t realized at the time was that these photos will go viral – leaving many in tears.

Earlier this year, Officer Allen Jacobs was shot and killed on duty by a 17-year-old gunman.point 152 |
At the time, Officer Jacobs and Meghan were expecting their first daughter.point 216 |

At his memorial, Meghan attached two ultrasound photos with this message: “I miss you so much! Docs checked today.point 102 | Out baby girl is great.point 121 | I love you so much.point 136 | ”point 143 | 1

While their baby girl, soon to be named Lennox, is due in July, Meghan thought of a special to way to spend Father’s Day.point 172 | With the help from her long-time-friend, Jessie Ellex, Meghan wanted to pose for a series of photos as a way to remember her beloved husband and a fallen hero.point 305 |

“Meghan had the idea to include the policeman in her photos, since she had to do this without her husband,” Ellex said.point 110 | When police officers in Greenville heard about this, they did not hesitate to join.point 180 | Just like Meghan, they wanted to pay respect to their fallen comrade.point 240 | 1

So, in a series of photos, you can see a group of police officers are standing behind Meghan and saluting her.point 282 |

 One of the other pictures shows Meghan holding her iPhone with a picture of Allen that makes it looks like he is kissing her stomach.point 111 |

Other photos include the folded American flag presented to Meghan at Allen’s funeral, and Meghan wearing Allen’s uniform shirt.point 232 | 1

When Lennox is born, Ellex and Meghan plan to do another photo shoot to show Lennox that her father will always be with her.

“I hope that my photographs can help (Meghan) heal and others who may be going through the same situation,” Ellex said.
