Woman Traveled City To City Seeking Random Acts Of Kindness In Honor Of Her Late Mother

Mary Latham is a girl who loves her camera, driving with her Subaru through the United States with a mission of highlighting the stories of human kindness.

Her life is not easy, as she drives from city to city sleeps in host homes, but Latham is following her late mother, who told her daughter that kindness was everywhere, and you just need to find out.

Latham was heartbroken when her mother died in 2013, a dark phase of her life that eventually gave birth to Latham’s road trip project, “More Good.”

Latham holds some encouraging advice from her mother, her mother’s words inspire her to start the next chapter of her own life after her mother’s death.

“There is always going to be horrible and tragic things that happen,” Latham’s mother had said, according to the More Good website, “but there will always be more good out there, you just have to look for it.”

Latham decided to move on in October of 2016, and she followed her mother’s advice and start looking for the good out there.

She packed up her late mother’s blue Subaru and started her road trip, and she has been traveling ever since.

During her travels, the 31-year-old spends time with her host families and hears their stories and the stories of those nearby, according to WBUR-FM. She wants to compile all these inspiring stories into a book.

Once the book is completed, Latham wants to donate copies to hospital waiting rooms, where people can read and they get some hope and encouragements.

Latham depends on donations to pay for gas and little needs and chooses her next destination based on host invitations.

She does not have a formal sponsor, instead, she is fueled by human kindness.

Latham has completed nearly 40 states so far, and regularly shares her whereabouts through social media with her followers and her GoFundMe page.

She wants to spread a message that kindness is everything, and even during bad times, the kindness of humanity will shine brighter than tragedy.
