A Lawyer Dressed Like Grim Reaper Visited Florida Beaches To Urge People To Stay Home


A lawyer in Florida dressed up as Grim Reaper to haunt people who were enjoying at Florida beaches despite the coronavirus outbreak.

Daniel Uhlfelder wanted people to stay at their homes because social gatherings could result in a more devastating situation.

To make his message more effective, Uhlfelder decided to visit the beach after dressing up like Death so that people could be reminded of the consequences.

The 47-year-old told WMBB News 13: “I’m here today to try to make a point that we need to, I think it’s premature that we open our beaches.

“I’m a huge proponent of public beaches and I’ve been fighting for that for year.”

He added: “But I think that the danger of bringing all the people here to our area and spreading the virus, I think it’s going to prolong the recovery we have.

“I think we should take better measures. It’s too soon and it’s not appropriate.”

Uhlfelder has decided to continue paying his surprise visits at a number of places. He announced on Twitter that he will be traveling throughout the state in the same attire.

While sharing the photos of his first visit, he wrote: “Today I began touring Florida as the Grim Reaper to remind Floridians of the importance that we stay home and protect one another.

“This is just the beginning. Thank you for the support received from all over the world.”

Uhlfelder has taken an extraordinary measure to make people aware of the threat. Speaking to Business Insider, he explained that the unusual choice was made due to the unusual circumstances.

He said: “That’s why I’m doing things that are kind of unorthodox.

“You now have a trial lawyer wearing a Grim Reaper costume on the beach. That’s not normal, but these are not normal times.”

Florida beaches had been reopened with instructions that Floridians must use them for “essential exercise only” while maintaining social distance.
