LeBron James sent taco trucks to serve firefighters battling the wildfires in the greater Los Angeles area, and he was among thousands of people who evacuated their homes in the dangerous Getty Fire, which has burned through over 650 acres by Wednesday.
Mayor Eric Garcetti praised the kind gesture of the basketball player and tweeted, ”Thank you, @KingJames, for generously sending a taco truck to support our @LAFD firefighters, first responders, and partner agencies working to fight the #GettyFire.”

James had to flee his Brentwood home on Monday and is staying with his family in a hotel.
He tweeted: ‘I pray for all the families in the area that could be affected by these fires now! Pretty please get to safety ASAP.’
‘My appreciation and loyalty to the first responders,’ James said in a news conference Tuesday prior to the Lakers home game at Staples Center. ‘Those guys, men and women are unbelievable, what they’re doing and their bravery throughout this time.’
He also tweeted in the support of the firefighters and police officers writing, ”My best wishes as well to the first responders⛑ right now doing what they do best!”
The Akron, Ohio native appreciated firefighters and first responders for their bravery saying, ”the reason why things could be a lot less worse than they could be,”
”It definitely doesn’t go without noticing, without appreciation,” he added.
”Finally found a place to accommodate us! Crazy night man!’ he said in a series of tweets. ‘I [pray] for all the families in the area that could be affected by these [wildfires] now! Pretty please get to safety ASAP.”
