Leaving back bad habits, to which once we have been used to, is one of the happiest feelings one can experience.
Kenny D. is a gentleman, who has done drastic changes in his life.
Kenny, during his last three years, has given up drinking alcohol and has documented his journey through sobriety.
He took a record of all the changes he is going through by taking pictures of himself.
Kenny is 37 years old, working as a railroad engineer in the American Pacific Northwest. Kenny’s journey towards leaving this bad habit of alcoholism started 3 years back when he finally decided to quit what he has done in the past.According to Bored Panda, Kenny told that he started drinking when he was in college.
He also revealed that he was an excessive drinker and that was certainly becoming a problem for his family and friends.
Kenny used to drink almost 12-24 drinks per day, and surely that was quite a lot of amount of alcohol. At that time, Kenny was not able to control himself when it came to alcohol.Well, it was the year 2016, when he finally became determined and decided never to drink again in his life.
During the last three years, Kenny has taken photos of how he looked when he quit alcohol at key stages in his journey of sobriety.
He told, “I took a picture of myself the day I got my first sobriety coin, 24 hours sober.
I felt so ill and I looked so bad, I wanted to remember it so I wouldn’t forget. The day I got my 30-day coin, I thought my look had changed drastically so I took another selfie,”
When Kenny took his first photo, he was not feeling well.
He not only stopped drinking but also modified his daily diet and started exercising.
After a month, he started feeling much better about what he was doing. He posted a one-year anniversary photo on Reddit and titled it as “Progression of Sobriety”.This photo was flooded by comments of appreciation and also with questions related to quitting alcohol.
After the first year, Kenny posted his progress on Sobriety’s birthday on November 2. This November, Kenny was 3 years sober.He also takes a photo every time when he gets a new AA sobriety chip.
