A professor at UCLA is forced to stay home for an involuntary leave and will be fired from the institution if he refuses to provide extra leniency to black students in exams.
This strange case is from a well-known institution, UCLA, where the authorities mistreated a senior professor, Gordon Klein.
He was asked to exercise compassion and show leniency in marking the papers of black students when George Floyd’s case was everywhere on media.
The professor didn’t agree to display any discrimination between black, white, or mixed-race students and had to face severe consequences for doing so.
According to the professor, he was suspended from his job for showing no discrimination among students based on their skin color.
In his perspective, every student should be given equal treatment.
But for this action, the administration tried to terminate him. First, he was forced to get three weeks’ leave, and now things are getting worse for him.He has been a part of the same institution for the previous 40 years, and his vast experience in this field was also not considered while treating him in this manner. He also suffered from severe emotional trauma. The constant stress he was facing during this duration led to several physical ailments as well.
Unexpectedly, the request for leniency for black students was from a white student.
Replying to him, the professor asked sarcastically that what he should do if a student is from the mixed-race and what about the students from Minneapolis as they are suffering more than any other student. This reply infuriated many people working in the university, and several students and social media users demanded instant termination of the professor.
Long story short, the professor faced severe consequences for treating all the students equally.
Would you please share this article among your fellows and let them know how people are treated after the death of George Floyd in America? Education standards should be kept equal for all students, and discrimination based on their skin color should never be accepted.
