Every parent of a special needs child knows just how special and important their child is, but sadly the rest of the world has not learned this important lesson.
Sadly, for far too many, this ignorance can turn into downright vile remarks. Luckily, these remarks are rare, but for the parents that have to deal with the damage they cause, it is still a huge problem.
Max Begley, a 13-year-old was playing outside in his grandmother’s yard. Max loves his grandmother and her yard and Max’s parents visit very often for the extra help from his grandmother.

Around four times a week Max comes over to visit with his grandmother. Karla Begley, Max’s mother, has multiple sclerosis and Max has severe autism, both of which can be difficult on their own, but together are quite the handful. So the family often visits with Max’s grandmother for the extra help.
However the entire family was absolutely heartbroken when they received a letter from an anonymous neighbor near his grandmother’s home.
This home that had previously been a safe sanctuary for Max and his family had suddenly become hostile and cruel.
Instead of being in a loving and supportive environment where all children can thrive, one mother decided that not all children are so deserving of love and respect. The letter is so disturbing that we can’t share the entirety of it.
The letter, which is signed by “One pissed off mother” tells the Begley family to move to a trailer hidden away in the woods. The letter also calls Max a “wild animal” and even went as far as to call him the offensive R-word.As if that wasn’t vile enough for this supposed mother, the author also said that Max should euthanized and have his body parts donated to science.
The author of this letter is certainly housing some vile feelings. Below is an excerpt, please be warned that the letter is disturbing.“Who the hell is going to care for him? No employer will ever hire him, no normal girl is going to marry/love him, and you are not going to live forever! Personally, they should take whatever non-r*****ed body parts he possesses and donate it [sic] to science. What the hell else good is he to anyone! Do the right thing and move or euthanize him! Either way we are all better off”

Brenda Millson, Max’s beloved grandmother was in absolute shock when she read the letter.
I was shaking when I was reading it. It’s awful words. You don’t know why somebody would ever do such a thing.
The author is certainly housing some dark feelings to ever write such a cruel letter to a family like this. She couldn’t believe that someone would ever say something so insensitive about her own child.
Thankfully, whoever wrote this letter is just a vocal minority as the entire community has rallied behind Max and his family.
Whenever Max is out playing, his neighbors come out to cheer him on. They want him to remember that there’s nothing wrong with him, even if he is making a few noises because of happiness. Every child deserves to experience fun, no matter what.
