Soldier Died During War in Afghanistan. Wife Reads His Letter After Funeral And What She Found Will Leave You in Tears


To honor the ones who sacrificed their lives for the motherland and the freedom of its public are rewarded.

Two days are reserved for their remembrance which is Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day. On these days there is an official holiday from offices and school.

Among both the days, Memorial Day holds more importance as it specified to give honor to the ones who saved their county by sacrificing their own lives.

Todd  Weaver who was twenty-six years of age was sent in Afghanistan for the second term in 2010. He was married two years before deployment and had a daughter who was only nine months old. He contacted his family through video calls and letters. He could not meet them physically.

A few weeks before his return he was martyred by IED on 9th September 2010. His dead body and belongings were sent by ship. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia in the month of October.

The laptop of Lt. Weaver was handed over to his wife, in which Weaver had left two documents one for his wife and the other for his daughter, in a word file.

Int hat letter, Weaver wrote that he would not be there when Emma will be reading this letter. He apologized for not being with his wife and daughter but reminded that he will be there watching over them.

He asked his wife to live her life happily by holding their memories he affirmed that he had a loving, caring and beautiful wife. He said that he is lucky enough to have this amazing wife and daughter.

He also provided Emma with some instructions for future life. He felt apologetic for not being physically present with her and the letter which addressed his daughter, seemed like it is encapsulating all the sentiments of his father. He reminded her that she would not feel alone in any phase of her life.

Emma narrated her feelings on her personal blog. She described how she mustered up the courage and bore the harsh reality. Emma paid tribute to Weaver and saved his letters by printing and displaying them.
