A mom-to-be revealed how her younger step-sister accused her of ruining her big day by showing up pregnant at her wedding.
As the young woman in question revealed in her Reddit post, she and her husband had been trying for a baby for some time before her younger step-sister asked her to be a bridesmaid at her wedding.
Delighted by the offer, the big sister gladly accepted. She and her husband also stopped trying for a baby because she wanted to make sure she would be able to attend her sister’s wedding without a big baby bump.
“We stopped trying, nine months before her wedding, not because she made me, but because I wanted to be able to attend her wedding in my bridesmaid dress,” the older sister explained.
Three months before the wedding, however, the couple decided to start trying for a baby again knowing that the baby bump would still be small at the wedding should the woman succeed in getting pregnant.
“If I were to get pregnant, it would be a non-visible tiny baby bump. She knew we were trying, so we told her that she wouldn’t have to worry about me getting pregnant. She looked reassured and happy about that.”
Just months before the sister’s wedding, the woman had found out that she was pregnant. While her baby bump was not yet supposed to be visible on her step-sister’s big day, the family was in for a big rift when the wedding got delayed for four months due to bad weather.
After learning that her step-sister had fallen pregnant and that she would be six months pregnant on her wedding day, the furious bride accused her sibling of breaking her promise and ruining her wedding.
“She was really mad that I broke my promise but I said that she should have just checked the weather and it wasn’t my fault,” the woman added.
After asking the internet for advice, the mom-to-be quickly received loads of support with people failing to understand why her step-sister was so obsessed with her not looking visibly pregnant on her wedding day.
“I was bloating, showing and moderately miserable in the heat… my sister was just happy I was there to be a part of the day,” someone wrote.
“If you were my stepsister I would just be over the moon that you got pregnant. She sounds like a bridezilla,” another said.
The third suggested: “But when you have to push a wedding back then there’s not much that can be done, you and your husband tried so hard.”
