A teenage girl spoke out and revealed how she got married to her boyfriend after just two weeks of dating.
18-year-old Clara Bell from Kentucky became a teenage bride after tying the knot with 20-year-old Trey Bell following just weeks of dating.
As the young lady revealed, she and her boyfriend previously dated back in 2018 before going their separate ways when it was time to go to different schools.
This year, however, the pair reconnected and decided to elope and tie the knot in Florida after dating for only two weeks.
“The feelings we had came back when we started talking again, after three years apart. I’m sure we still had feelings in those years, but there wasn’t a lot of communication going on. When we reconnected, it felt natural and right,” Claire explained.
“When I mentioned the idea of getting married, we just looked up whether we could get married that day. There was a company in Panama City Beach who had that option, so they’re the company we went with. They gave us the minister and all the paperwork and stuff.
“I didn’t think we’d get married after two weeks, but I did think we’d get married at some point.”
After returning from their short holiday, the couple had some tough explaining to do, whereas Claire’s family didn’t even know she had a boyfriend before she took to Florida only to return with a husband.
“Our families were certainly surprised. I hadn’t told my parents about Trey. So not only did I have to say I was married, I had to introduce them to my husband because they didn’t know him,” Claire added.
“It was surprising in a shocking way, like ‘What?! You did what?!’ But they’re happy now. Trey met my parents; I’ve met his parents. They’re super happy for us now, but at the time, they were just shocked and confused. I wouldn’t say they were shocked in a bad way though.”
Though some people were quick to judge the young couple and suggest that they’ll be divorced in a matter of months, Claire believes that she and Trey were able to avoid repeating past mistakes by tying the knot.
“So now that everything was working out, it just felt like we should do it, even though it seemed like a crazy thing to do, because I wanted it to work out this time,” she said.
“I’d say we’re still in the honeymoon stage. Marriage is definitely difficult, but not extremely difficult. We didn’t have premarital counselling or anything, so we’ve had to work things out when it comes to us having different opinions about stuff or how things should be done.”
