Senator Lindsey Graham insisted America is free of systemic racism as he went on to defend his claim with unusual proof.
The right-wing congressman, who represents South Carolina, appeared on Fox News Sunday to discuss President Biden’s reaction to the death of George Floyd with host Chris Wallace.
While the 46th US President continuously showed support for the Floyd family and went on to claim that the murder of George “ripped the blinders off for the whole world to see the systemic racism” in the country, Senator Graham suggested that our POC vice president is a sign that the “systems and not racist.”
“No, not in my opinion. We just elected a two-term African-American president; the vice president is of African-American and Indian descent. So our systems are not racist,” the Republican insisted.
While he admitted that Derek Chauvin’s murder trial was a just result of George Floyd’s death, Graham went on to claim that America isn’t a racist country.
“America is not a racist country. Within every society, you have bad actors. The Chauvin trial was a just result,” he added.
The senator also took aim at the Democrats as he accused people of attacking the police and policing under the pretense that all police officers are racist.
In his final comments, Graham took a final jab at Biden as he accused the president of running down “the best place on the planet.”
“America’s a work in progress but it’s the best place on the planet. And Joe Biden spent a lot of time running the place down. I wish he would stop it,” the senator said.
