A lonely dog from Britain has been looking for a forever home for ten years after arriving at a local shelter as a pup.
Bess the border collie has been dubbed one of the loneliest dogs after Kent-based Last Chance Animal Rescue revealed that she’s been waiting for someone to adopt her for a decade.
As the shelter explained, Bess is an affectionate and loving dog despite being “very stubborn” and having “trust issues with new people.”
Last Chance Animal Rescue has also suggested that the pooch would make a perfect addition to households with no other pets due to Bess preferring to have her own space at times.
“When Bess trusts you she is affectionate and loves to be petted but very much on her own terms, she doesn’t like to be over fussed or crowded,” the staff said.
“Bess would need a very understanding and devoted home with someone who is happy to leave her be to adjust to her new home life after so many years in kennels.
“All Bess would love is a nice soft comfy bed and short walks throughout the day, she is house-trained and not destructive.”
As the dog’s rescuers added, Bess won them over by being super clever and always coming up with ways to trick them to give her treats.
They have also urged anyone willing to adopt to contact the shelter and arrange for a meeting with Bess.
