If you thought that going on a cruise was only for people over 50, Royal Caribbean International may give you a reason to reconsider.

After a $115 million makeover, their ship Navigator of the Seas has a whole host of attractions that are sure to make your stay on the ship both enjoyable and memorable.

Chief among its attractions is the so-called “The Blaster” which is an 800-foot “aqua-coaster” that opened to the public last month. The ride launches two-person rafts through a series of dips and bends with parts of the tubes transparent so that one can enjoy the view or be sick.

A section of the ride actually goes over the edge of the ship so there’s definitely something more to think about than how fast you’re going.

Another attraction is the Riptide which is the cruise industry’s first “mat racer” which also features translucent tubes to give riders unmatched ocean views.

Michael Bayley, President, and CEO of Royal Caribbean International described the revamp as “unmatched” and “innovative.”

He explained, “Each Royal Caribbean ship brings a new adventure uniquely designed to deliver on our guests’ preferences from A to Z.

“Every detail matters and we’ve mapped out an unmatched combination of innovative features and experiences for this top-to-bottom transformation of Navigator of the Seas.”

But the $115 million makeover didn’t all go to the slides. A host of other leisure and entertainment attractions were also added to cater to those who don’t fancy zipping about over open ocean.

These include:

– To Dry For, which is the first standalone blow dry bar at sea

– Planet Z which features glow in the dark laser tag

– An escape room named The Observatorium

– A two-level signature cocktail bar called The Lime and Coconut

– El Loco Fresh which serves tasty Mexican street food

– A Polynesian-themed watering hole called The Bamboo Room

– Jamie’s Italian

– Starbucks (yes, you can just go have coffee at Starbucks if you can’t think of anything else to do)

All things considered, the cruise line has definitely thought of all the ways to check those boxes as far as entertainment at sea goes!
