Lord of the Rings creators have announced that they are looking for actors with lots of wrinkles and little teeth to play Orcs in the Amazon’s upcoming series.
Shortly after Amazon announced they would start filming the Lord of the Rings TV show in 2020, casting companies have called out to people that resemble Orcs to join the crew.
To be specific, the creators are looking for people with lots of wrinkles, funny noses, and little teeth to portray the Orcs.
According to one Auckland-based casting agency, they are looking for applicants that are either below 5 feet or over 6 feet 5 inches tall. In addition, the applicants should have “character faces” and “wonderful noses.”
Another request that caught the attention of LOTR fans was that applicants should have lots of wrinkles and be “hairy hairy people of all ages and ethnicities.”
As the Wall Street Journal reported, casting companies have a hard time finding appropriate people for filling up the roles of Tolkien’s monstrous creations – the Orcs.
Soon after the ads for openings went viral, people couldn’t help but have a good laugh and tag their friends.
One of the people who believe they have a shot at becoming an Orc is 41-year-old lorry driver Justin Smith who said: “I’ve got more than missing teeth, I’ve got none.”
To prove his point, the driver already sent his selfies to the casting agency.
Another applicant is Nick King who applied for the role after his friends told him he’s got a shot because of his “character face.”
