Over a year since Loughlin and Giannulli have been charged with one count of conspiracy to commit fraud, the couple, who paid Rick Singer $500,000 to get their daughters at USC, accepted a generous plea deal.

While their charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in jail, Lori is set to pay $150,000 and serve two months in prison under the plea deal. Meanwhile, her husband is set to spend five months in jail.

Since the couple was indicted back in March 2019, they had also been facing other charges including conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery.

These charges, however, have been dropped.

Loughlin and Giannulli represent the 23rd and 24th parents, out of more than fifty accused, to plead guilty to participating in the college admission scheme despite previously expressing their reluctance over accepting a plea deal.

While the plea deal has been signed, a judge yet has to approve the proposed sentences, whereas the hearing date is unknown as of the time of this writing.

While plenty of defendants in the case were handed out lenient sentences and served just days behind bars, the toughest sentence, consisting of 9 months in jail, was given to Douglas Hodge who paid $850,000 to get his four kids into USC and Georgetown University.
