Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released a statement about their plans to divide their time between the UK and North America, and they also give up their share of the Sovereign Grant.
At the end of the statement, the couple signed off as ‘Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke, and Duchess of Sussex’.
The TV presenter, Lorraine Kelly, 60, shared her thoughts openly after the Duke and the Duchess of Sussex announced they were taking a step back from their roles as Senior Royals.
Lorraine said Harry and Meghan were “clearly very unhappy and miserable” because of the big and unpleasant action they had decided to take.
She said: “I think they [Harry and Meghan] were doing a good job.
It has become a hot topic to discuss after Meghan and Harry made their plans to get away from the limelight in an unexpected statement on Instagram.
The statement read: “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”
Later, Lorraine expressed her disappointment at the Royals leaving the UK in the discussion with Mary Berry on Thursday’s segment of her chat show.
“It’s just a bit sad isn’t it,” she probed.
Also, later on her show, Lorraine spoke to Mary Berry, the baking star who shared a close relationship with the Royal family. It was her first time speaking out on the news.
“It’s very sad,” Mary said.
The baker recently did a show with Kate Middleton for A Berry Royal Christmas.
Duchess of Cambridge Kate shared Mary was one of Prince Louis’ first words because he recognized the star TV chef on her cookbook in the kitchen.
