Los Angeles County’s Board of Supervisors voted for a one-year ban on official travel to Alabama after state’s controversial abortion law.
Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, who co-authored the motion with Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, called the law an “attack not only confined to the residents of those states but an act of aggression upon all of us.”
“We must stand in solidarity and in opposition against extremist and unconstitutional laws that put the health and wellbeing of families at risk,” Solis says.point 437 |

Solis proudly says that the travel restriction “sends a strong signal that infringing upon an individual’s rights to reproductive health and privacy are not American values.”
Solis explains about the ban, Los Angeles County officials can travel to Alabama on county business in cases of “emergency response, training, or assistance, or other legally-required matters where the failure to authorize such travel would seriously harm the County’s interests.”
Letters from Los Angeles County sent to Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey, a woman, demands the law should be overturned. Similar letters will be sent to leaders in states like Arkansas, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, and Utah.

Many actors and actresses threatening to boycott the state of Georgia after The Los Angeles travel ban on Alabama, for a recently passed bill that essentially bans abortions of unborn babies once doctors detect a heartbeat in the mother’s womb. But, still, there is no sign to overturn the laws by the governors of either state.
