And on 1 January 2016, she got fed up of her weight and lifestyle and decided to bring change in her life and habits.
She started going to the gym regularly and learned about nutrition. Ultimately, Lexi lost an incredible 312lbs over two years. Danny has also joined his wife and started training, losing 95lbs himself.
Lexi told Barcroft TV: “I didn’t do anything but go to work, come home, sit on my couch and eat every single day. And it just wasn’t living. I was just existing, I was a prisoner in my own body.
“I had to save my own life because I didn’t think I was going to live to see 30 and now I’ll be 30 next year.”
She said: “I couldn’t travel on airplanes with my husband. I could barely walk a block without being out of breath or climb stairs. I was afraid to die.
“I suffered from joint pain I suffered from being fatigued all the time.”
She has even a bitter memory of their wedding day, she received the negative treatment while shopping for her wedding dress.
“My wedding day should have been the best day, but people definitely mistreated me at the stores as soon as I walked in.
“They gave me looks just because of my size, almost like I wasn’t worthy of getting married just because I was overweight.”
After getting married, Lexi and Danny were enjoying their comfortable lifestyle of binge-watching boxsets and eating junk food in the evenings.
Danny said: “I think, between me and Lexi we just overindulged on food. We would order a large stuffed crust pizza, breadsticks, wings, Mountain Dew and just binge watch Netflix and just overeat.”
Lexi said: “I didn’t have a healthy relationship with food; I was an emotional eater, so if I was sad I ate. If I was happy, I ate. If there were celebrations, I ate.
“My favorite food was always pizza and tons of plates at the Chinese buffet.
“I would say I probably ate over 6000 calories a day.”
She was fed up with her lifestyle and she has thought of starting a family together, Lexi made the decision to turn her life around.
“After all those moments added up, I was just fed up. And then I set a new year’s resolution on January 1st 2016. And that’s when it all changed.”
Lexi said: “I started documenting on social media May of 2016.
She started hitting the gym six days a week, Lexi’s weight started to drop. She also shared her unbelievable transformation on social media.
“I just had people at my job see me transform and tell me I should join. But then when I started posting I started getting comments like, ‘Hey, Lexi you’re really helping me.’ And then I was like, ‘Okay well, if I don’t go to the gym, then I can’t post and then I can’t help that person’.”
Both left their job and started working as full-time fitness influencers.
Lexi was left with a large amount of excess skin after losing her weight but she didn’t hide it and posts pictures of herself.
She said: “I had a lot of excess skin, I knew it was going to happen going into my weight loss journey but I knew that loose skin was something that I didn’t want to use as an excuse.
“I knew that I could always get it removed, I knew that it was something that was just cosmetic but I had seven pounds of loose skin removed Halloween 2018.”
She said: “No matter where you’re at in your journey, surround yourself with positive people.
“Surround yourself with people who love you no matter what size, shape or form because Danny never asked me to change. He supported me the whole time.”
