When Kristina Kuzmic got divorced, she was “done with love”.
At that time, all she wanted to do was to solely focus on her two children.
Then, Kristina met Phillip.
Even though she started falling for with him, Kristina consciously tried to push him away.
Her prior experience of going through a rough divorce prevented her from admitting that she had feelings for him.

Yet, even after Kristina kept giving him reasons to not be with her, Phillip stayed.
Eventually, after a few months of dating, Kristina introduced Phillip to her children.
Even then, Phillip made it extra clear that he was going to stay with Kristina no matter what.
Then one night, when Kristina was at her most vulnerable moment, she decided to see if Phillip really meant what he said.
It was 2 in the morning when her 3-year-old came down with the flu and her 5-year-old refused to go back to bed. Exhausted, Kristina called Phillip.
Then, she told him,
“Come over. Come over right now. You say you want me, you say you want my life with everything that comes along with it, then come over.”
Just 20 minutes later, Phillip showed up at her front door.
When Phillip went inside, he saw what was going on – Kristina was on all fours on the floor trying to clean up her 3-year-old’s vomit and the kids were screaming. But, he did not walk away.

What Kristina was expected was “a look of shock or disgust, maybe even anger”. She honestly thought that no one would want to be woken up in the middle of the night for such chaos.
To Kristina’s surprise, Phillip immediately got down on the floor and cleaned up her daughter’s vomit. Not only that, he tucked in Kristina’s children in and got them to sleep.
Afterwards, Phillip kissed Kristina’s forehead, and said, “Yes. I want this. I want every part of it. All three of you.”
That’s when Kristina realized that Phillip was the one. Not only was Phillip the one for her, but also that he was perfect for her children.
From that point on, Kristina stopped doubting Phillip’s love for her.
In fact, she tells us that “it’s been almost seven years since that night, and Phillip is still quick to clean up the vomit, to stay up late talking my pre-teen through a rough day, to take my daughter’s phone calls at work when she needs help with a problem, and to love them unconditionally as if they were his own.
